Hey Hey, It's Lizzie Borden Day!
On August 4, 1892, a certain young lady from a well to do family in New England is said to have committed patricide. The young lady was the charming and elusive Elizabeth "Lizzie" Borden of Fall River Massachusetts.
It still is unknown if Lizzie actually did kill her Father and Step-mother with a hatchet, but her holiday remains a beloved one in the Untied States.
This year, the spokesperson for Lizzie Borden Day, is the world renowned international beauty and "First Lady of Cinema", Miss Florence Lawrence. Speaking to us at Pax Romano Central from her spacious home in Beverly Hills, Flo was abuzz about this year's celebration; "Not since Lyle and Eric have I seen this much enthusiasm about Lizzie Borden Day", the aging chanteuse gushed as she no doubt was swilling down her tenth bloody Mary of the day.
"We've got parades, and face painting clowns for the kiddies, and well Sunset Blvd is going to close at six pm so that a record number of Lizzie Look a Likes can parade in front of the Judges."
No doubt, Hollywood's paean to Borden will be one of many this year. So from all of us at Pax Romano's Ramblings, to all Of You, have a wonderful Lizzie Borden Day!
Lizzie Borden took an axe
Gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one
