Cheney sez, "Gay Marriage Okay In My Book" (sort of)

So while Bette Midler dogs her gay fan base by not supporting gay marriage, The Vice President speaks out and puts that hag to shame!

Color me shocked: From today’s Philadelphia Inquirer, a headline reads, “Cheney splits with Bush on same-sex marriage.”

The story then quotes old Dickey Boy thusly, “Lynne and I have a gay daughter, so it’s an issue our family is very familiar with … With the respect to the question of relationships, my general view is freedom means freedom for everyone … People ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to … The questions that comes up with the issue of marriage is what kind of official sanction or approval is going to be granted by government? Historically, that’s been a relationship that has been handled by the states. The states have made that fundamental decision of what constitutes a marriage.”

I am shocked, that this SOB can so succinctly put into words something that Bette Midler could (or would) not. What's next, Jerry Falwell comes out in support of separation of church and state?

Stay tuned!
