Does anyone still remember Pearl Harbor?
Most of us, when prompted, can, but I bet a lot of people have no idea, at all, what happened on this day in 1941.
My dad told us that he was in a movie theater and they interrupted the film to announce what had occurred in Hawaii. Then, they closed the theater down and sent everyone home. He said a lot of businesses closed for the day ...
Of course, most of us were not even born when this happened, but still, you'd think that considering what the Pearl Harbor attack ushered in, there would be more of a national observance. But I guess it interferes with people's Xmas shopping (and we can't let something like that get in the way of spending money).
