Election Day

It's Election Day today in America. Not a big one for most. Next year, when we finally bid farewell to the shit-head and his cronies who have raped this nation for the past eight years, it will be monumental. However, for now, it's mostly low key stuff.

Here in Joisey we have two interesting ballot questions. One has to do with stem cell research (which I am sure will bring out the bible thumpers, en masse) and another to remove some wording from the State's constitution.

The wording in question denies the right to vote to those who are deemed an, "idiot or insane person". Yup, that is exactly how it is worded. It will be changed to "a person who has been adjudicated by a court of competent jurisdiction to lack the capacity to understand the act of voting."

Frankly I am hoping that both of these pass. I know someone who benefited from stem cell treatment for a rare form of cancer he had (said individual had to go to Europe to get said treatment), but it was well worth it in the end as he is fine today. And of course, the second question is a no-brainer, of course I support it. On the other hand, if idiot's through out the land were denied the right to vote, well we might not be in the mess we are in today, so there is that.

In any case, don't forget to do your civic duty today. Consider it a practice run for next year.

See ya at the polls!
